ABOUT THE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT LEAGUE
Shaping the future by empowering youth to grow as individuals, while making a positive global impact.
It is known that youth carry our hopes for a better future. The Youth Empowerment League (YEL) empowers youth to become leaders within their schools, communities, and beyond. Personal growth is fostered through mentorship opportunities, hands-on educational experiences, service initiatives, and global awareness.
YEL was founded by Leslie Trelles-Diaz and Lissette Trelles because of their passion for educating and empowering youth. While working with youth across their community and abroad, they decided it was time to join forces and make a global impact.
YEL guides youth to embark on a journey of finding their true selves by empowering them to take action in building a strong foundation for their future. YEL believes all youth can embrace who they are, define their future, and change the world.
In the words of Malala, "Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality."

Director of Operations
When youth take part in YEL programs, they experience higher self-confidence, compassion, empathy, social collaboration and civic participation.
Partnerships play a key role in YEL's efforts. By collaborating with extraordinary partners—including foundations, nonprofit organizations and corporations—we are working to create a better world for youth.
